Welcome to Sunflower Sky Farm.
We have always been gardeners at heart. Ben once mentioned wanting to be a farmer when we were first married, halfway joking. Eventually, we found ourselves wanting space and a beautiful place to raise our growing family. We began our search for property in the mountains, but that just wasn’t to be, and instead we settled on 35 acres on the Colorado prairie. It is dry, windy, and there are no mountains, but it certainly has its own charm and beauty. We always say the sky is our “view.” You can see for miles, and it’s never the same sky twice.
I was inspired to use some of the property to start a beautiful flower garden. We made it a family project, from preparing the ground, to growing and planting seedlings, and it eventually became a full cut-flower farm. We soon found ourselves with a lot of beautiful flowers on our hands. Initially we sold them directly to florists, but once we joined the local farmers markets, we discovered how much we love sharing flowers directly with our community.
Now, 9 years after starting, we produce our flowers exclusively for local farmers markets. Our farm has grown to fill an entire acre now, and includes fields of peonies, annual flowers, and multiple greenhouses. The business is still operated entirely by our family. We do everything, from planting the seeds to harvesting the flowers and bringing them to you at market. Its so fun to say, “Hey babe, can you believe we’re actually farmers?”

It brings us joy to see our flowers bringing people together, and we look forward to seeing you at market!
